Susan has been advisor to the human sustainability movement since the 1980s. Her background in promoting the science and economics of health and wellness dates to her association as Managing Director of AIDSFILMS. She has spent decades helping train professionals regarding the impact of design on the health of humans in the built environment. Her enterprise-wide work with Colorado State University, Instituto de Thomas Jefferson, (Mexico), NYC Public Schools, promoted WELL Building and its positive effect on campuses, classrooms, and integrative medicine practices.

Ms. MacMurchy participated in the development and deployment of WELL Building Standard and Ratings, is currently developing proof of concept for Integrative Medicine Prototype and developing products for healthier workplace. Most recently, Susan developed the program WELL Qualified, later launched as Works with WELL. This database licensing tool facilitates and simplifies materials and product specification for supporting the achievement of WELL Certification.

In one of her many roles at Delos, Ms. MacMurchy led teams of architects, designers, researchers, art directors, graphic designers, and writers in the initial creation of the Delos brand and business model. A formidable Placemaker, Susan sits on Advisory Boards including Delos, EcoRise, an ASID Steering Committee, and the IWBI WELL Health Safety Rating Advisory.
